The operation of the spray gun is relatively simple. After preparing the basic materials and equipment, keep the spray gun perpendicular to the surface of the object to be sprayed, maintain an appropriate spray distance between the nozzle mouth and the surface, and spray overlapping. But pay special attention to details. Three points should be paid attention to when operating a spray gun: spraying distance, operating speed, and overlapping spraying.
1. Spraying distance
The distance between the front end of the spray gun and the object to be sprayed. When spraying, keep a certain spraying distance before spraying.
① If it is too close: it is easy to flow downward ⇒ it is difficult to maintain a uniform film thickness.
② Too far: the atomized paint is easy to splash ⇒ waste of paint and deterioration of the working environment.
Generally, the spraying distance of the spray gun is between 150mm and 300mm.
2. Operating speed
The moving speed of the spray gun in the direction is generally 3~4 meters/s.
Keep the direction perpendicular to the surface to be painted and move at a certain speed.
3. Overlapping spraying
A common spray gun has an oval-like slender round shape, and the end gradually becomes thinner. Therefore, the size of the spray gun is generally moved in an overlap of 1/2 to 1/4 to form a uniform film thickness.
After using the spray gun, clean the spray gun in time to avoid unclear use of the spray gun.
4. Spray gun cleaning
①Drain the remaining paint from the spray gun.
② Use cleaning fluid to clean the inside of the paint channel. (Reminder: After cleaning with the cleaning fluid, turn on the air, and then clean with the cleaning fluid. Repeat this exchange several times, which can save cleaning fluid quickly.)
③ Remove the air cap and clean it with a special brush.
④Clean other areas stained with paint and add a little lubricant to the trigger. (Reminder: When cleaning, please do not put the entire spray gun into the cleaning fluid!)
